The French market is coming back to Horsham this weekend and with it comes its re-branded bedfellow the Makers’ Fayre. Horsham District Council (HDC) describes it as “Full of typical Gallic charm, the France at Home traders come from different ‘departments’ in Normandy and cross the Channel every week to offer a wide range of top quality products. Sample beautiful meats, local and regional cheeses, bread freshly baked every day, patisserie, olives and dried fruits. A great selection of handbags, jewellery, Provençal soaps and much more will also be on display.”
With this comes the Makers’ Fayre which used to be known as the Vintage and Retro Market. HDC say the fayre will “feature a wonderful range of vintage clothes, crafts, art, homeware and giftware” so I am puzzled about the name change.
The 2014 and 2015 editions had a display of Aston Martins but there is no talk of a car show this year. Pictured above is the Aston Martin that Roger Moore drove in the Persuaders, on display in 2014. Therefore it will be interesting to see how the lack of a car display affects the footfall this year.
