This, of course, is the St Mark’s Church in the town centre, or at least, the remaining spire. It’s been re-photographed for the uncovered series but even the original photos were taken with the DLSR with the 10-18mm wide angled lens. Nothing narrower would enable the whole building to be captured in a single shot.
I have never known the building to be opened to the public but would be interested to see inside and determine what remains of it. It would seem that at some time it was used as a bar called The Spire boasting “A new establishment serving the best in drinks, mixers and light snacks. Open lunchtimes and evenings for food and drink in a breathtaking historic venue..” but no evidence of that exists today.
