The old Town Hall is currently clad in scaffolding whilst cleaning works go on the outside of the building. Luckily this is at the expense of Bill’s so no cost to the town; one small benefit of the council leasing out this piece of heritage. The council have been quoted by West Sussex County Times as saying:
“It is currently undertaking the cleaning of the exterior stonework and in connection with this has submitted details to the council and has been in liaison with the council’s Planning Department throughout.
“As landlord, the council will monitor the progress of the operation. There is no cost to the taxpayer in performing this operation.”
